Tracing our roots to a home group in the 1940s, our fellowship spent several years meeting in the old British Legion hut in Biddulph, under what is now Sainsbury’s car park. Following a grant from a generous donor, our current building was constructed in the 1960s on the “miners’ estate”. We’ve had several changes over the years, being called Hebron Hall, and more recently Biddulph Gospel Mission, until in 2017 we entered a new chapter as a fellowship, becoming Lord Street Evangelical Church. We feel that “Evangelical Church” fits our outlook: we stand solidly on the Bible as God’s Word to us and we believe in the Gospel of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection for us. This being the case, we love Him and want to make Him known in our community. We trust you’ll find a warm welcome and truth spoken in love when you visit us. Why not join us?
